Doug Ford’s Ontario PC Government Delivering on its $30 Billion Plan to Build and Renew Schools

Doug Ford and our Ontario PC team are delivering on our $30 billion plan to build, expand and renew schools across Ontario, giving students the modern learning spaces they need to succeed in their studies and prepare for in-demand careers.

This fall, 35 new and expanded schools will open their doors across Ontario, creating more than 18,000 new student spaces and over 1,100 licensed child care spaces to support growing communities.

It’s another step forward in our $30 billion, 10-year plan to build the modern schools families and growing communities need.

Since 2018, our Ontario PC government has invested in 209 new schools and 161 additions and renovations, creating more than 150,000 student spaces and over 11,000 licensed child care spaces.

And we’re continuing to build.

Our Ontario PC team is focused on giving every student the opportunity to succeed. That means giving teachers the tools and resources they need, investing in modern schools and making sure every dollar we invest in education is driving stronger student achievement.

For the 2026-27 school year, our government is providing a record $30.6 billion for education, while making changes to strengthen student achievement and deliver more consistent learning experiences across the province.

That includes updated curriculum and new classroom resources, new tools to support math and financial literacy, direct funding for elementary homeroom teachers to purchase classroom supplies and clearer expectations around attendance and assessment. We’re building more schools, supporting teachers and putting student achievement first as we continue working to protect Ontario
