Since 2022, Ontario’s PC government has cut the provincial gas tax by more than 10 cents per litre and made those savings permanent. This has put $2.3 billion back into the pockets of families and local businesses, saving Ontario households $500.
Now, Doug Ford and Ontario’s PC team are calling on the federal government to extend its fuel tax relief through at least the end of the year, or better yet, follow Ontario’s lead and make the savings permanent.
As Ontario faces economic uncertainty and U.S. tariffs, and families already facing higher costs for housing, groceries and everyday essentials, now is not the time to bring back another tax at the pumps.
