Ontario PCs Investing $12.75 Million to Combat Hate and Keep Communities Safe

The Ontario PC government is taking strong action to protect communities and combat hate by investing an additional $12.75 million in the province’s Anti-Hate Security and Prevention (AHSP) Grant.

This funding will help faith-based, cultural, and Indigenous organizations enhance security measures, including hiring security guards, installing surveillance cameras and making building upgrades. These supports will help ensure people across Ontario can feel safe gathering, worshipping and celebrating their culture.

Eligible organizations include:

  • Religious and spiritual communities such as mosques, synagogues, temples and churches
  • First Nations, Inuit, Métis and Urban Indigenous organizations
  • Cultural groups, including 2SLGBTQQIA+ organizations and Black, Asian and other diverse communities

Applications for this year’s grant are now open. Funding is provided on a first come, first served basis, and eligible organizations are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.

Since 2021, the AHSP grant has delivered more than $98 million in support to over 3,000 communities across Ontario. The program provides up to $10,000 per organization to help prevent and respond to hate-motivated incidents.
